Inaugural Restaurant Finance Summit

NRA Restaurant Finance SummitEconomic and financial indicators in the restaurant industry have shown positive trends, and the National Restaurant Association (NRA) will hold its inaugural restaurant finance summit next May. The conference, slated to be held on May 19, 2014 at McCormick Place, Chicago, will feature discussions regarding the fiscal health of the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industries.

The inaugural restaurant finance summit occurs during the NRA Show 2014 billed as the “international foodservice marketplace,” scheduled to run from May 17-20, 2014.

According to the NRA’s press release, the finance summit will include restaurant financial executives and operators, Wall Street analysts, investment groups and lenders, as well as tax and accounting professionals. NRA’s Vice President, Tax and Profitably, Dave Koenig said, “Financing and finance-related issues continue to be a critical focus for restaurateurs looking to expand existing concepts or launch new ones. Our goal is to bring these restaurant executives together with potential lenders and investment groups to discuss opportunities in an environment – NRA Show – that embodies the scope and vitality of this industry.”

Restaurant Finance Summit Schedule

The summit will begin with a luncheon and keynote presentation by Jonathan Tisch, Chairman, Loews Hotels & Resorts, a subsidiary of Loews Corporation, one of the largest diversified holding companies in the country. Tisch is also the author of three best-selling books, including The Power of We: Succeeding Through Partnerships; Chocolates on the Pillow Aren’t Enough: Reinventing the Customer Experience; and Citizen You: Doing Your Part to Change the World. He also hosts the Emmy-nominated series, Beyond the Boardroom with Jonathan Tisch.

Afternoon sessions include Wall Street View of the Restaurant Industry, Restaurant Financing/Lending Possibilities, and Business, Accounting and Tax Issues. A reception will end the day with networking opportunities interspersed with the presentations.

The summit is geared toward those with high levels of financial decision-making responsibilities in their organizations. The cost is $299 and includes full access for all four days of the NRA Show exhibit floor and programming. The NRA Show features over 1,800 suppliers and includes several educational presentations throughout the day during each day of the show.

Additionally, the International Wine, Spirits & Beer Event is held in conjunction with the NRA Show on May 18-19.
